Michael Osilama Otu,A  seminar on how to pay legal fees without ‘robbing a bank’ is scheduled to hold next month. The seminar  will hold at the Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The seminar, which will hold on May 20 and 21 is guaranteed to change perspectives and improve financial bottom-lines according to the organiser. The programme will be put together by Legal Practice Solutions (LPS).

It is tittled: “How to pay your law firm without robbing a  bank (External Counsel budget Management: insisting on the best service quality at a budget friendly fee)”.

The event, according to the organiser is to provide viable alternatives to external counsel management with regard to budgeting. In a press release signed by Godwin Amadi, convener of the seminar and Chief Executive Officer LPS, reducing external counsel fees and costs has consistently been among the most pressing issues identified in recent Legal Department Surveys.

He noted that informed legal departments are becoming more sophisticated in their efforts to evaluate external counsel pricing and fee arrangements, and most recognize that this involves more than simply pressuring existing external counsel to maintain or lower their fees or retainers.

“To afford the seminar  with  rich and practical perspectives and give the participants the benefit of adaptable international best practices, the seminar is scheduled to pull together  first-class legal egg-heads, which will include: Oghenerume Rotimi, General Manager, Commercial Legal, MTN Nigeria, Michael Osilama Otu, Company Secretary/Legal Adviser, Zenith Bank Plc and Vicent Eromosele, Head, Legal Service, Etisalat Nigeria”, Amadi stated.
