The Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has reiterated the commitment of the state to the creation of job opportunities in the state.

He stated this recently during a courtesy visit by a non-governmental organisation, God’s Agenda Men and Ladies International.

The Governor, who said his government was passionate about the wellbeing of the poor and downtrodden, noted: “I am not taking for granted the prayers of these categories of people for our administration, which has continued to attract God’s presence in all we do.

“We all saw what happened during the Rangers AITEO CUP finals, when they were already three goals down, but with your prayers, God turned things around and Rangers came victorious.

“So, I thank you all for your prayers and assure that this administration shall not relent in initiating programmes and policies that would impact positively on the lives of the poor and common man in Enugu State.”

He said the State remained a safe destination for investors.

The group, led by its Chief Executive Officer and the Secretary, Chinelo Nnajieze and Amaka Ucheonye, respectively, had told the Governor at the Enugu Government House that they were touched by his administration’s accommodation of all shades of interests in the State.

Nnajieze said the two-year-old organisation was established to fight poverty and hunger across the country, saying “we have presence in all States of the federation. We are here today because we have so many things in common with Your Excellency.

“We are so much touched by your government’s concern for the condition of the poor and downtrodden in the society.

“More importantly, we are glad over the level of peace and security in the State since this administration came on board; since he took over in 2015, we have not heard about killings and all manner of things. We are not hearing about intimidation of anybody for one thing or the other.

“So, we are here to assure him that our members are ready to support him in 2019; we are here today with our PVC and that is to demonstrate our commitment.”
