An Impressive showing for Lisa Omorodion’s First Cut
THERE have been positive reviews on Lisa Omorodion’s production debut, First Cut since the movie opened in cinemas. Notable singer Oritsefemi, leading actress Monalisa Chinda, popular actor Mike Ezuronye and many other bigwigs in the Nollywood and music industries have heaped praises on the film which was recently premiered at the Silverbird Galleria, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Directed by Chico Ejiro and featuring some notable actors like Joseph Benjamin, Monalisa Chinda and Bobby Obodo, First Cut, a movie about neglect, insecurity, poor parenting and abuse, narrates the story of KC Morgan (Lisa Omorodion), a character loved and respected by many yet suppressed by trauma. Although she struggles to pull through, but her own painful secret kept threatening to shatter the new life she has created for herself.
Speaking at the premiere of the movie, which is still showing in all Silverbird Cinema across the country, notable movie director Lancelot Imasuen commended Lisa Omorodion for the effort she put in to realize the movie. “We are here to support Lisa Omorodion. She is a good actress likewise an outstanding producer. She has done quite a good job and I believe she will do even better in her subsequent productions’’ he said.
An excited fan McDonald Bidemi described the film as a good first attempt. He said, “I couldn’t just accept the fact that this is Lisa’s first attempt at producing, she quite has surprised me and many others here today”. Also, another moviegoer Orekoya Adesewa who had canvassed support for the industry from both government and cooperate bodies for good productions described the movie as timely. She said “I have quite a number of take home lessons from First Cut; it is a very intriguing and educating movie’’.
The actress Ebube Nwagbo, Mike Izuronye, Charles Granvilles are some of the guests who added color to the events on the black carpet.
