In the heart of Lagos, a cultural revolution is brewing. Eko Hotels and Suites’ Prideland 3 is not just another holiday event—it’s a bold reimagining of African storytelling, performance, and artistic expression that promises to captivate audiences and challenge traditional theatrical boundaries.

The upcoming Tropical Christmas Wonderland represents a meticulously crafted fusion of theatrical innovation and cultural heritage. At the core of this extraordinary experience are two Broadway-style musicals that breathe new life into classic African literary works. The Jewel and The Return of Queen Fara draw inspiration from the legendary writings of Ola Rotimi and Wole Soyinka, transforming these timeless narratives through a lens of futuristic creativity.

Imagine theatrical performances that transcend conventional storytelling—where the rich tapestry of African tradition meets cutting-edge artistic vision. The musicals are not merely plays, but immersive journeys that transport audiences through time, weaving together historical depth with contemporary imagination. Drawing from Rotimi’s celebrated work Our Husbands Have Gone Mad Again and Soyinka’s The Lion and the Jewel, these productions promise to be more than entertainment; they are cultural statements.

Complementing the musical performances, the Dazzling Prideland Circus adds a layer of breathtaking spectacle. Unicyclists defy gravity, stuntmen push the boundaries of human capability, fire-eaters command the stage with elemental drama, and acrobats create living art through their extraordinary physical prowess. Each act is a testament to human creativity and skill, reflecting the vibrant spirit of African performance art.

Respected cultural luminaries have already voiced their enthusiastic support. Professor Tunji Sotimirin articulated the event’s profound significance, emphasizing its role in democratizing theatre. “What this programme has done is advance the course of theatre and push it beyond rhetoric,” he stated, highlighting the crucial need to make artistic experiences accessible to broader audiences.

Dr. Iyadunni Gbadebo, Director of Sales and Marketing at Eko Hotels and Suites, speaks with passionate conviction about the event’s transformative potential. “Performing and creative arts is the next level,” she declares, positioning this initiative as more than an entertainment package—it’s a statement about Africa’s creative future.

Expected to draw 250 families from across the globe between December 20th and January 2nd, Prideland 3 is not just an event, but a movement. It represents a powerful declaration of African artistic excellence, creativity, and cultural confidence.
