The just crowned queen of Models on the Island (MOTI), Marlyn Jacob, has promised to use her position to embark on forums and awareness on the management of sickle cell anemia disease in the country.

MOTI is a unique concept designed by Twin Image Concepts to provide platforms for the discovery, development and empowerment of young people who are aspiring to be professionals in modeling. And in the 2015 edition, a queen, a king and ambassadors emerged.

During a media briefing in Lagos, Jacob, who is also a sickle patient, said that she decided to make this a top priority because she had realised that most sickle cell patients could have survived if there had more access to basic information.

The queen assured that for the next one year in the office herself, the king and other ambassadors of MOTI would join the rest of the world in a race of national and socio-economical progress.

Her words, “In this regard, plans and arrangements are being consolidated towards the official launch of our pet project tagged “MOTI Sickle Cell Anemia Health Management Campaign” in June. Through this emblem, we hope to embark on forums, conferences, summits, tours and fairs to create awareness on the health management available to those living with sickle cell anemia disease, the role of the society towards the survival of the same, facilitation of free healthcare drugs/therapies, among others.”

Jacob, however, called on everyone to stay open and join them in the noble course towards the nation building. While thanking the management of MOTI, Twin Image Concepts for the opportunity, she also appreciated the support of their present technical partners such as Emmy Icon Entertainment, Sola Creative, Jim Brook Fashion, Etisalat Nigeria, among others.

As an initiative that shares the dream of nation building with government at all levels, MOTI runs as an event, pageant and schemes with the major aim of providing an alternative for the youth through skills/talent development. The pageant office provide envoys the avenue to render patriotic services through a pet project and other community development programmes within one year timeline to the people of Nigeria.
