The 2024 Calabar Carnival and Festivals are poised to reach new heights, with First Bank of Nigeria, United Bank for Africa (UBA), Zenith Bank, Nigerian Breweries, Minimie, and several other iconic brands joining as official sponsors of this year’s extraordinary celebration.

Known for their innovation, leadership, and commitment to cultural promotion, these brands are set to infuse unmatched energy and creativity into the festival.

Their involvement reinforces a shared dedication to celebrating Nigeria’s vibrant culture, heritage and national pride.

With the theme “Our Shared Prosperity,” the Governor of Cross River State, Bassey Otu, warmly welcomed everyone to “the biggest party in Africa,” highlighting that this year’s event promises even more exciting activities.

In his remarks, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of First Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Olusegun Alebiosu, emphasised the bank’s enduring support for the carnival.

He explained that as a brand deeply rooted in Nigeria, First Bank remains an integral part of the nation’s fabric.

Alebiosu said through initiatives like December Is a Vibe, the bank has made significant strides in promoting music and culture.

Alebiosu noted that supporting Carnival Calabar aligns naturally with the bank’s commitment to cultural enrichment.

The Chief Executive Officer of Okhma Global, Mary Ephraim-Egbas, which is the official marketing company for Carnival Calabar and Festivals, expressed her excitement about the partnerships.

She said the 2024 Calabar Carnival and Festivals tagged ‘Carnival for All,’ resonatie with this year’s theme of ‘Our Shared Prosperity.’

According to her, the carnival is an exceptional celebration of Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage.

Ephraim-Egbas added that all participating brands will benefit from this collaboration as over two million attendees are expected.

She said visitors from across Nigeria and around the globe will experience earmarked events filled with excitement, creativity, and unity, adding that this collaboration underscores the strength of partnerships.

The Chairman of the CRS Carnival Calabar Commission, Gabe Onah, also reflected on the significance of the sponsorships.

He said the commitment of the sponsors ensures that the 2024 edition of the Calabar Carnival will be truly spectacular.

Onah expressed gratitude to the partners, stating, “We are privileged to work with such remarkable sponsors, who are helping to showcase the best of Nigerian culture on the global stage. Their support contributes to local and national growth while creating a lasting impact on the community.”

He noted that the 2024 edition is set to be a fusion of music, dance, culture, and innovation.

Onah stated that attendees can expect breathtaking parades, exhilarating performances, and creative brand activations that will captivate both local and international audiences.

“This collaboration celebrates Nigeria’s boundless creativity and exemplifies the power of partnership in shaping world-class events,” Onah concluded.
