Environmental sustainability vital for enhanced productivity — Fagun
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Berger Paints Nigeria Plc, Mrs Alaba Fagun, has emphasised the crucial role of environmental sustainability in the daily activities and operations of businesses and stakeholders. She stated that environmental sustainability is indispensable for bolstering social productivity.
Fagun said this during the inaugural edition of the Berger Paints Industry panel initiative, “True Colours,” in Ikeja, Lagos State. The event’s primary themes were ‘Breaking Down the Intricacies of Environmental Sustainability’ and ‘Bridging the Gap Between Rural and Urban Settlements.’
She said: “It is no secret that our planet faces unprecedented environmental challenges, including climate change, resource depletion, and pollution. To create a sustainable environment in both rural and urban areas, we must comprehend the intricacies that affect them and propose viable solutions.”
Fagun further emphasised that both the government and the general populace play pivotal roles in realising the goal of a beautiful, vibrant, and sustainable environment.
A panelist at the event, Mrs. Aderonke Olajubu, who is also the Head of Operations at Berger Paints Nigeria Plc, underscored the importance of commencing environmental sustainability efforts at the individual level, whether in one’s home, business, or workplace. She revealed that Berger Paints’ intentional commitment to sustainability, including maintaining the cleanliness of its surroundings to benefit all living organisms, including plants and animals.
Another panelist, Mr. Oladapo Omolade, the CEO of Hybrids Group Limited, emphasised that addressing the challenges of environmental sustainability in the nation requires ongoing advocacy and comprehensive efforts from all stakeholders.
