The Deputy Vice Chancellor, Kola Daisi University, Ibadan, Professor Olajumoke Abimbola Morenikeji has been slated to be the keynote lecturer at the 2025 Private Universities Educational Forum to be held on February 14, 2025, at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.

Discussing with the agency team organising the forum – Foresight Educational Consult, Morenikeji said the topic of the keynote lecture – ‘The Benefits of Empowering University Students with Entrepreneurial Skills for Future Career Development’, is indeed timely.

“This is because as educators, we are not ignorant of the challenges confronting the Nigerian graduates. It is rather unfortunate that the pathways to achieving success, particularly getting suitable employment, have many challenges. One of the major problems is the issue of inadequate or lack of work experience. Where would the fresh graduate who has focused entirely on academic pursuit get the work experience?”

The lecture will provide extensive education to parents, the universities and their prospective students, indeed a more expansive scope on how entrepreneurial skills will prepare the students for handling challenges that are known to be associated with the job market.

The Head Consultant of the agency organising the event, Ayodeji Michael Oshodi, said: “Going by our links with private secondary schools that will participate at the 2025 Private Universities Forum, they are expressing high level of interests at meeting officials of the various universities.”
