Swift Telephone Network partners Mushin general hospital on health outreach
Swift Telephone Network has partnered with General Hospital Mushin to host a free medical outreach aimed at promoting better health practices in the Mushin and Itire communities.
This initiative, held recently, marked the first healthcare-focused community social responsibility (CSR) effort by the telecommunications company in the community.
The event provided free health screenings, such as tests for blood pressure, blood sugar, malaria, and Body Mass Index (BMI). It also offered consultations with specialists, including pediatricians, gynecologists, ophthalmologists, and family physicians.
Over 200 individuals benefitted from the initiative, which also included the distribution of free diagnostic kits and medication.
The Systems Administrator at Swift Telephone Network, Victor Okorie, emphasised the significance of their collaboration with General Hospital Mushin.
“We are dedicated to promoting healthier habits in our community, and this medical outreach is a key part of our wider mission to encourage healthier lifestyles in the Mushin and Itire areas,” he said.
Okorie also mentioned that the partnership with General Hospital Mushin was particularly valuable due to the hospital’s openness to collaboration.
“After reaching out to various medical facilities, General Hospital Mushin embraced our initiative and became the ideal partner for this important outreach,” he added.
The Medical Director and CEO of General Hospital Mushin, Dr. Oluyemi Taiwo praised the collaboration, highlighting the hospital’s commitment to community health.
“This outreach is one of our regular programmes, which we conduct every quarter in addition to observing international health days,” she explained.
Taiwo also recognised the importance of such partnerships in enhancing the health of local residents.
“We believe that with support from organisations like Swift Telephone Network, we can make a significant impact on the health and well-being of the people in Mushin, Itire, and surrounding areas,” she said.
The medical outreach is expected to leave a lasting impact by raising awareness about the significance of regular health check-ups and strengthening ties within the community.
Both Swift Telephone Network and General Hospital Mushin have expressed their commitment to continuing their partnership and are exploring opportunities for future collaborative initiatives that will further benefit the local population. This partnership represents a key step in the companies’ shared goal of improving health outcomes in the region.
