The CEO of Natures Gentle Touch, Chijioke Anaele, has stressed the importance of proper hair care practices to address common hair and scalp problems faced by Nigerian women.
Speaking at its quarterly workshop held in Lagos, Anaele recommended regular deep conditioning, avoiding harsh chemical treatments, and using hair-friendly accessories to promote healthy hair growth
According to him, hair breakage, dandruff, and receding hairlines are often caused by overprocessing with chemicals, tight hairstyles, and poor combing habits. He also emphasised the need for women to seek professional help for issues like breakage and hair loss, and to treat flakes promptly.,
According to Anaele, many Nigerian women neglect proper hair care, often hiding their hair under wigs, weaves, and braids due to lack of confidence in their natural hair., He noted that overlapping relaxers, over-processing, and using rubber bands or tying hair too tightly with ribbons or braids can lead to breakage.,
He said: “As Africans and Nigerians, we believe every woman should appreciate and embrace her natural hair. A lot of the products people use are not made specifically for Nigerian women, and they often end up damaging the hair. That’s why we say with confidence that Natures, Gentle Touch is the only Nigerian brand made specifically for the Nigerian woman.,
“When women complain about their hair not growing, it’s often because of breakage. If you’re combing your hair and it keeps breaking, it’s a sign that something is wrong. Also, using rubber bands or tying the hair too tightly with ribbons or braids leads to breakage.,
“The way forward is for women to wash and condition their hair regularly, treat flakes when they appear, and seek professional help for issues like breakage and receding hairlines.”
The workshop also featured hands-on sessions and expert guidance who spoke extensively on hair and scalp conditions, their causes, and treatment methods.
