The Presiding Pastor of Sanctuary of Christ Evangelical Church [Inc.], Ibadan, Oyo state, Professor Gbade Ojo, has charged the government at all levels to carry women along in national development initiatives, stating that they are crucial instruments in peace building.
Ojo made this known at the 31st annual Women conference and thanksgiving service tagged: “The Just shall live by faith” -Romans 1:17B, held at the church auditorium, Ibadan.
”For women to be so critical to nation building he alluded to the Bible book of Proverbs 31:10-25. The university scholar urged the federal government to come up with policies that shall elevate women in the scheme of things”, he said.
In her welcome address the women leader of the church Pastor, Prof. Ronke Ojo, had flayed the federal government for not quickly rejigging her harsh economic policies so that an average Nigerian could heave a sigh of relief.
The university don also berated governments at all levels for not addressing the security situation of the country properly, just as she commended women across the nation in their peace building efforts cum evangelical activities. Highlights of the annual gathering included a medical mission where all members of the church and the neighbourhood were given free medical tests and treatment.
