Ahead of the general elections, Commonwealth Business Women (CBW), Nigeria, has called on Nigerian women to come out to vote candidates of their choice.
According to its Chief Executive Officer in Nigeria, Afoma Adigwe, women have the political will to change the fortune of Nigeria and bring positive long-lasting development to the country.
“Women have contributed positively to humanity, we have an obligation to vote to assure we have a positive future and access to programs that sustains us.
“Women have long had to fight for many rights and voting is just one of them. We, as women, just have to vote and make our voices heard,” she stated.
While kicking against any form of electoral violence on women at polling centres, Adigwe stressed that such would amount to gender-based violence.
