The city of Abuja witnessed an extraordinary convergence of purpose-driven women as the Women in Career Advancement Network (WICAN) hosted its landmark event, the Career Smart Woman Conference 2025.
Held at Bromley Events Place & Apartments, Gwarimpa, the event welcomed over 200 women in career and business, alongside exhibiting companies, creating a vibrant atmosphere of learning, growth, networking, and empowerment.
Themed “The Career Smart Woman”, the event had a dynamic lineup of thought leaders, professionals, and change-makers, all united in one goal; to equip women with the tools, mindset, and community to excel and thrive in their chosen fields.
In a keynote address delivered by Director of Government Affairs, Microsoft, Nonyelum Ujam, she noted that the major goal is to let the younger generation of girls see that you can achieve anything you set your heart to do, “No giving up on your dreams.”
With panelists including Chief Operating Officer at The Limi Hospital Ltd, Oluchi Iseko; Human Resources and Administration Manager at National Democratic Institute (NDI), Ryasai Jones; Operations Lead, Fight Inequality Alliance, Vivian Savia; Educator and Early Years Consultant, Uche Okoro; and Chief Executive Officer of School of Service Tobi Gussy, the conversations were rich, raw, and real. Topics ranged from workplace resilience, navigating toxic environments, owning your voice in male-dominated fields, to balancing ambition with emotional wellness.
Founder and Convener Eniola Peters in her remarks said “We are not just building careers; we’re nurturing confidence, resilience, and legacy. This isn’t just about where we are now, it’s about who we are becoming — for ourselves and the women coming behind us.” Her words resonated strongly, setting the heartbeat for a day of inspiration, clarity, and community.
A key highlight of the day was the official unveiling of Eniola Peters’ newest book, “The Career Smart Woman” — a practical, story-rich guide to navigating real-life career challenges. With emotional readings, live book giveaways, and heartfelt testimonials, the launch further cemented the conference’s goal of leaving women with tools to thrive beyond the event.
WICAN’s mission to equip women in career and business with resources, mentorship, and community was brought to life. Attendees left not just inspired but activated — ready to implement what they learned, build with new connections, and embrace their identity as Career Smart Women.
