CORONATION

Founder, House of Tara International, Tara Fela-Durotoye, has been honoured with the distinguished Royal Order of Iwere (ROI) award during the fourth Coronation Anniversary celebrations of His Royal Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, the 21st Olu of Warri.

The ROI award, established by Royal Proclamation on August 24, 2024, is one of the most prestigious honours in the Warri Kingdom, recognising illustrious sons and daughters who have made exceptional contributions to the nation while upholding values of integrity, excellence, and cultural pride.

This year’s ceremony, held as part of the 6th event in the anniversary lineup, spotlighted remarkable individuals whose impact continues to shape Nigeria positively. The recipients also included founder of the World of Light Bible Church, Ayo Oritsejafor; cultural preservationist and philanthropist, Dr. Helen Boyo Ekwueme.

Speaking on the recognition, Tara expressed her deep gratitude: “I am very, very excited for different reasons. Number one, because the most cherished and loved Ogiame is one of the most respected monarchs in Nigeria. And when someone of such caliber honours you, you feel that you have a double honour.”

Her Royal Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, commended all awardees for their unwavering contributions to the growth and pride of the Warri Kingdom. The ceremony also highlighted the monarch’s commitment to the younger generation, with cash gifts presented to children who excelled in the Isekiri language competition, underscoring the importance of cultural preservation.

For over two decades, Tara Fela-Durotoye has championed entrepreneurship, female
empowerment, and cultural representation through House of Tara International, Africa’s
indigenous beauty brand. Her recognition with the ROI Award not only honours her personal journey but also reflects the profound intersection of business excellence, cultural advocacy, and national pride.
