Adedoyin Family, AISS begin fund raising to complete abandoned islamic school
The family of Chief Yesufu Gbadeyanka Adedoyin, the late Baba Adini of Ijomu Oro and Olori Ewe of Oro Kingdom, Kwara State, has set aside November 24, 2024, for the 24th anniversary and a dedicated Assalatu and Commemoration Service for the late philanthropist and community leader.
The prayer and inauguration of a multi-million naira Ansarul Islam National Mosque Islamiyah / School Complex will be held at the Ansarul Islam Society National Mosque, Augustus Aikhomu Way, Utako, Abuja starting at 9:00am.
The late Adedoyin, a successful business tycoon, was a close ally of the late founder of the Ansaru Islam Society of Nigeria, Sheikh Kamaldeen Al-Adabiyah, and a community leader who gave all he had to the growth of Islam, Oro Kingdom development, and Kwara State as a whole.
In a statement signed by one of his sons, Rauf Demola Adedoyin, a former Brand Investment Manager at Unilever Nigeria on behalf of the family, described the late Adedoyin as a selfless individual who believed in humanity and knowledge acquisition, hence the reason for the proposed school complex for the advancement of humanity.
“It is very important to do whatever we can within limits to make him proud where he is, our father, the late Gbadeyanka Adedoyin, was an enigma when it came to touching lives and supporting the work of Allah.
He believed that the best way to build a society is by lifting the people and he did this indiscriminately.
He loved and trained his children, loved the Oro Kingdom, loved humanity, and above all, loved Islam and gave the religion his best.”
According to Demola, as a result of the commitment of snr Adedoyin to the growth of Islam, he was seen by many scholars and other followers of Sheikh Kamaldeen as an ANSAR (helper) of the Ansarul Islam Society.
Though the origin of the society is Ilorin, the indisputable cradle of Islam in Yoruba land, the statement disclosed that Oro Kingdom, the Olori Ewe community got the first Ansarul Islam Grammar School before Ilorin because of Pa Adedoyin’s relentless effort to promote western education alongside Islamic education.
“Baba Adini Adedoyin breathed his last on 24 November 2000, and his death threw the entire Kwara State, especially members of his dear society, into deep mourning. To die and leave a memorable legacy in the heart of one’s loved ones is a mere transition as the memory will continue to linger.” the statement stated.
Meanwhile, in a message by the Chairman, Ansarul Islam Society Abuja Branch, Alhaji AbdulGaniy Yusuf, AISN extended prayers towards the successful organization of the commemoration event in honour of a great leader and father in Islam.
He beseeched Allah (SWT) to keep all members and family of the late religious leader alive beyond the date and to eternally comfort his departed soul and that of the entire Muslim Ummah with paradise.
