Firm canvasses economically viable S’East, appoints Okoye as CEO
A firm commited to economic development in the South East, Eastside Ventures, has vowed to reinvent Igbo communities.
It also promised to empower individuals, uplift settlements and grow the region.
In a statement, it also announced appointment of Chinny Okoye as its inaugural Group Chief Executive Officer to c transform the company and drive meaningful change.
The statement reads: “We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in the journey of Eastside Ventures as we appoint Chinny Okoye as our inaugural Group CEO effective May 1, 2024. This appointment marks a pivotal moment, as we embark on our next phase of growth, visibility and impact in the Southeast of Nigeria and beyond.

“Chinny brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to advancing the Igbo community.
“Her academic background, including a Diploma in Political Science and her studies in Public Policy and Philosophy at the University of Massachusetts Boston, where she also took courses in International Relations and Women’s Studies, equips her with a diverse skill set and a deep understanding of societal issues. Her leadership at The Women International underscores her commitment to empowering marginalised communities, including women and girls through transformative initiatives and advocacy efforts. She has demonstrated her ability to drive meaningful change and address systemic inequalities.”
The statement went on: “Her pivotal role in shaping national discourse through the development of a comprehensive gender equality policy document, utilised in a Nigerian presidential bid, underscores her ability.

With expertise in advocacy, public policy, stakeholders’ engagement and strategic planning, Chinny is poised to guide Eastside Ventures towards our vision of creating a dynamic ecosystem that drives economic prosperity and social impact in the Southeast region and beyond.”
