In a fast-paced world where with a few taps on a smartphone an individual will have access to almost any goods or service required, quality healthcare would certainly be a part of the offerings. With Demilade Okewale and Kioki Okewale’s new brainchild, the healthcare needs of Nigerians and those in the diaspora are being met seamlessly.

According to Demilade Okewale, a London-based Nigerian IT expert, the new telemedicine app, Tell a Doctor (TeleDoc), is an application that makes healthcare more accessible to the underserved.

During the App Launch in Ikeja GRA, Lagos where attendees got to test the app, subscribers were treated to seamless telemedicine service.

Okewale, who co-founded the application with Kiki Okewale, and serves as the Chief Technology Officer(CTO) of TeleDoc, said in an evolving world where technology rules, healthcare is no exception.

He said the team had been working to revolutionise healthcare delivery in Nigeria by leveraging technology.

“TeleDoc will revolutionise healthcare. The platform is in the forefront of telemedicine, making healthcare more flexible, accessible, and efficient for doctors and patients.
“With TeleDoc, Nigerians can avoid high costs, skip long waits and get quality personalised care from doctors who know their needs virtually from their homes and offices.”

Kiki Okewale, on her part shared that even though the application is already in use, there are several add-on features coming to the platform to cover a wide range of services.

She explained that there is a lot more in the works beyond the opportunity to speak with a doctor for a 30 minute session, the availability of doctors and healthcare professionals from departments of medicines anywhere in the world. She revealed that TeleDoc is on the verge of becoming a one-stop shop for healthcare needs.

On his part, Okewale said by putting professionals in control of their digital practice, patients can access quality care from anywhere.

“We recognise the needs of Nigerians, at home and abroad, and designed TeleDoc to cater to those challenges. Whether you’re in Lagos, London, or New York, you can consult with top Nigerian specialists, bridging the healthcare gap for diaspora community.

“Healthcare doesn’t wait, and neither should patients. That’s why availability is key to TeleDoc’s infrastructure. We’ve built a system to ensure the platform remains accessible 24/7, enabling doctors and patients to connect without hassles,” Okewale noted.

Sharing insight into the technology behind TeleDoc and its secure and seamless experience, Okewale, an IT and Security consultant, said in healthcare, trust is essential, especially when it comes to handling sensitive medical data.

“That’s why we designed TeleDoc with the highest security, ensuring our users can use the platform without concerns about data breaches or privacy violations,” Okewale said.

He added: “The foundation of our security strategy lies in the CIA Triad – Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability. On TeleDoc, communication between doctors and patients is protected to ensure sensitive data remains private. Users can rest assured that their details are secure and accessible only to authorised individuals.’’
