1. Not Getting Enough Sleep

The average person needs 7–8 hours of sleep per night, but many fall short, often due to work overload. The body serves as an engine; without proper rest, there is a high chance it will break down. Prioritise sleep, minimise late-night work, and reduce screen time usage to ensure your body gets the rest it needs.

2. Self-Medication

The rate at which people engage in self-medication is quite alarming. Without a doctor’s prescription or professional medical advice, taking medication can lead to incorrect dosages and potential health risks. This habit can negatively affect the body’s system. Instead, when you feel sick, consult a healthcare professional to ensure safe and effective treatment.’

3. Poor Hygiene

A lack of proper hygiene, such as failing to keep your environment clean, can lead to various health issues, including malaria, which is often caused by mosquito bites. So, it is advised to maintain good personal and environmental hygiene. Always clean up dirt in your surroundings and practise regular self-care.

4. Skipping Meals

Not being hungry should not be an excuse to skip meals. Skipping meals, particularly breakfast (the most important meal of the day), can have negative effects on your health. Each meal plays a vital role in maintaining your body’s functions. If altered, it affects the body system. Skipping meals should be avoided, as excuses for this are intolerable. Do not wait till you’re hungry before you eat. Ensure you eat regularly and stay hydrated by drinking enough water.

5. Not Being Aware of Family Health History

Families need to be aware of their health history. Ignorance is not an option when it comes to potential genetic issues. There should be sufficient knowledge of the family’s health background to take proactive steps and provide solutions in case of any future medical concerns.
