Tobi Amusan continued her dominance of the 100m hurdles, winning the event at the Silesia Diamond League on Sunday in a time of 12.34 seconds.
The world record holder equaled the meeting record with her victory, which was her second consecutive Diamond League win this season.
Amusan got off to a slow start, but she made up ground on the field over the second half of the race. She caught American Kendra Harrison on the line to win by a margin of 0.01 seconds. Harrison finished second in 12.35 seconds, while Nia Ali of the United States was third in 12.38 seconds.
Amusan’s victory is a major boost for her confidence ahead of the World Athletics Championships in Budapest next month. She is the defending world champion in the event, and she is one of the favorites to win gold again this year.
Amusan’s victory is a further sign of her growing dominance in the 100m hurdles. She has been the world’s best hurdler for the past two years, and she is showing no signs of slowing down. She is the clear favorite to win gold at the World Championships next month, and she could even challenge her own world record.
