Blue Ivy Bids Over $80K For Diamond Earrings At Wearable Art Gala
The ten-year-old daughter of Beyonce, 41, and Jay-Z, 52, Blue Ivy Carter, astonished the Wearable Art Gala attendees in Los Angeles when she Blue Ivy placed a bid of more than $80,000 for a pair of Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings.
Blue Ivy leapt out of her chair and waved her paddle into the bidding war while her grandmother Tina Knowles-Lawson, 68, and Keke Palmer, 29, were acting as the auctioneers up on stage.
Along with her parents, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Blue Ivy attended the 2022 Wearable Art Gala on October 22 in Los Angeles. The family came to support the event’s host, her grandmother Tina Knowles, and the cause.
Blue Ivy had her sights set on a pair of Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings throughout the evening. Even her grandma wore the earrings that night, which formerly belonged to Beyoncé.
Blue Ivy was spotted donning a blue flapper-style outfit in an Instagram story posted by Quinta Brunson and later reposted by Pop Crave. The outfit was finished off with a feathered headband.
Blue Ivy was attempting to be the evening’s highest bidder while being watched by her parents by raising her bidding paddle high in the air and making an offer of more than $80,000 for the earrings.
Blue Ivy has a history of placing bids at this gala, even though she didn’t end up being the highest bidder this time.
She had her heart set on an acrylic portrayal of a young Sidney Poitier in 2018. She put in a bid of $17,000, then increased it to $19,000. Sadly, Tyler Perry outbid her and obtained the painting for $20,000 instead.
By the end of the evening, Blue Ivy had acquired a 36″ × 36″ work of art made from torn-apart legal and medical texts. Vanity Fair reports that Blue Ivy successfully bid $10,000 for the work of art.
Rumi and Sir, Beyoncé’s 5-year-old twins, are usually kept out of the public eye, but Blue Ivy has made multiple public appearances with her parents at award shows, charity events, and on set.
Beyoncé opened the 94th Academy Awards in March 2022 with a performance of her Oscar-nominated song “Be Alive,” and Blue Ivy joined her famous mother in a matching lime green outfit, sitting among a group of dancers who stood in front of Beyoncé.
Blue Ivy and Rumi posed with their mother in December 2021 for promotional images for her new line, which was a joint effort between her business Ivy Park and Adidas. The entire group was dressed in a houndstooth ensemble that included a crop top, white sneakers, and white leggings.
During a different photo shoot for Ivy Park earlier that year, in February 2021, made an appearance. She danced on set while modelling the collection in a video that her grandma recorded and posted to Instagram. She fit in easily with the other models and wore matching pieces.
