Nigerian music superstar, Burna Boy, surprised fans with the sudden announcement of a new album set to be released at midnight. The artiste took to his X account, the popular social media platform, to share the news with his millions of followers.

In the post, Burna Boy wrote the caption “Album dropping 12am.” It has gotten over one million views since the time of his posting. Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, has established himself as one of the biggest acts of Afrobeats.

His last full-length studio album, Love, Damini, was released in July 2022. It debuted at number 14 on the Billboard 200 chart. Additionally, the album reached number one on the United Kingdom (UK) R&B albums chart. Also, the album had features from artistes like Ed Sheeran, Kehlani, J Balvin, Khalid and Popcaan among others.

The wishes of Burna’s fans who have been awaiting the release of his next album seem to have been granted.

Details about the upcoming album, such as the title, track listing, and feature artists, are not known at the moment.

Burna Boy’s grammy

Burna Boy’s music explores genres of reggae, Afrobeats, amapiano, and R&B. Also, he is a Grammy-nominated artiste with 10 nominations. He won the Grammy for Best Global Music Album for his Twice As Tall album in 2020.

Furthermore, he is the most successful African touring artiste. He earned $5.7 million from selling 69,219 tickets in his six shows during his I Told Them… Tour. This achievement is the first of its kind by a Nigerian artiste.

In June 2024, Burna Boy visited the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital and paid the medical bills of all the patients. The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) applauded the artiste for his kind gesture.

The anticipation for Burna Boy’s seventh studio album continues building up.
