Nigerian actress Funke Akindele has spoken up about her recent challenges and success as well. She also urged her fans never to give up on their dreams.

Funke has come under criticism lately for the way she treated those who work for her.

Taking to her “X” page, the actress wrote; “Being an underdog doesn’t define me, it fuels me. Despite all the challenges I face, I keep pushing boundaries in Nigerian cinema. My success isn’t measured by accolades but by the stories I tell and the lives I impact. Here’s to never give up on your dreams, no matter the odds”. #UnderdogSpirit #Persistence #keeppushing

Recall, she also faced accusations of neglecting Aderounmu before her death, especially considering their prior collaboration.
Akindele explained that she had known Aderounmu for many years and had cast her in several projects, including “Industreet” and “Jenifa’s Diary.”

She clarified that she had paid Aderounmu for her work. Additionally, she stated that their professional relationship had ended after the completion of the projects.

The actress revealed that she had reached out to actor Jide Awobona, a close friend of Aderounmu’s, to inquire about her well-being after not hearing from her for some time.

According to Funke, Awobona informed her that Aderounmu had expressed a desire for more acting opportunities but had not pursued any new projects since their collaboration on “A Tribe Called Judah.”

Meanwhile, Funke Akindele’s A tribe called Judah is the highest-grossing film in the Nigerian entertainment industry, making over one billion naira in the process.
