We all have that one rich Aunty (imaginary or real) that gives off this elegant, relaxed yet affluent vibe with her fashion style.

While it’s not cheap to look the part most times, there are very simple tips to help you spark off that vibe on even the leanest of budgets. To begin your transition to the Rich Aunty lifestyle, you’re going to need these essentials:

  1. Bubu gowns: Trendy, fashionable and extremely classy, Bubu gowns are making their way to the top when it comes to the fashion industry. For more context, a Bubu gown is a free-flowing tailored long dress that fits ladies with any figure. They are quite spacious and devoid of a defined measurement of the bust, waist, and hips.

Bubu Ankara styles are not so extreme but they remain stylish. This kind of attire will perfectly hide wide, full thighs and streamline your figure. The cut is extremely simple and fashionable. Less is definitely more, don’t you think? For days when you don’t want your African woman features on full display, a Bubu gown is definitely a go-to for you. To spice it up, Bubu gowns can be made with African fabrics known as Ankara.

  1. Head bands: Head bands scream finesse and class when combined with the right set of clothing items. There are varying designs and sizes of headbands these days. The little secret is… know which one works best for you. Head bands can be paired with maxi dresses, casual outfits, traditional outfits or even corporate outfits!

  2. Two pieces/ three pieces: These outfits, as the names imply, come in twos and threes. Often made with soft lightweight fabrics, two and three pieces elevate your look and activate the rich Aunty in you.

They are often loosely fitted and well-tailored to fit any figure as well. Good enough, you will need very minimal accessories to pull this look off because of the features of the outfit.

These matching pieces can be rocked for events, fun outings, or casual occasions as well. Be sure to turn heads when you walk into a room with this outfit because of the poise and elegance it radiates,…amazing, just amazing.

  1. Exaggerated sleeves: Be it a blouse or a dress, exaggerated sleeves definitely have a way of bossing up your look. Essentially, these are outfits with bogus but well-tailored sleeves that give a stylish look when combined properly. As opposed to tight cocktail sleeves, these ones are more relaxing, exude confidence and class as well. So next time you have that meeting or event, step out of your comfort zone and show up on exaggerated sleeves to give you that Rich Aunty vibe.
