Abiodun gives car to Nigeria’s private secondary school best teacher
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has presented a brand new car to the overall winner of the Best Teacher in Private Secondary School Category in Nigeria, Oluwasanjo Ogunleye.
Abiodun equally accepted Ogunleye’s request to transfer his service, as a technical and vocational education expert, to the public service.
Presenting the car, on Friday, the governor said he had no doubt in Ogunleye’s ability to bring his wealth of experience into the public service.
“Ogunleye has graciously offered himself for public service, and I think that is an offer we should not take lightly. The offer should be immediately accepted, particularly because of the posture of this government relating to technical and vocational education training.
“I do not doubt that with his wealth of experience and having distinguished himself as someone who knows what he is doing, he will definitely add value to the technical and vocational education training department,” he said.
Abiodun called on teachers in public service to strive to be the best they can, saying Ogunleye’s feat in the private secondary school category should be an inspiration to other teachers in the state.
Ogunleye commended the governor for the gesture, noting that “it is a privilege to serve in the state.”
