Court remands man for alleged murder
An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, on Friday, ordered the remand of 22-year-old Nathaniel Yohana in a correctional facility over alleged murder charges.
The Magistrate, Mrs Adebola Adeola, did not, however, take Yohana’s plea for lack of jurisdiction.
She directed the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution for legal advice.
Thereafter, she adjourned the case till March 28 for mention.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Sgt. Kehinde Olarotimi, had told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on Dec. 25, 2024, at about 9.30 p.m., at Igbojaye, Otu, Oyo State.
He said the defendant unlawfully caused the death of 32-year-old Danmangu Tukur, by smashing his head with a stick.
The offence, he said, contravened Section 319 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
