The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has urged civil servants in the state to ensure quality services to the state.

Fubara said the state workers need to be more intentional towards rendering efficient and outstanding services, considering that his government is demonstrating a commitment to improving worker’s welfare.

The governor said improved services from workers would spur the government to serve the people better.
Fubara spoke at the 2025 Rivers State Civil Servants Thanksgiving Service held at the State Secretariat in Port Harcourt at the weekend.

Represented by his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu, the governor acknowledged the workers’ support to his administration, urging them to rekindle their energies and do more for the state.

He said: “We’ll want you to know that to whom much is given, much is also expected. We don’t take your support, love and concern for us for granted; so we want to say continue to redouble and rekindle your energies. Please, do more so that the Rivers State Civil Service would be the envy of all civil services in the nation.”

Fubara assured the workers that he is always ready to listen to their demands, suggestions and ideas, saying: “You have our ears. Note that while you’re yet asking, it’s already executed.”

The governor called for unity among the workforce in the state, emphasising that when there is unity, service delivery would be seamless.

Earlier, the Head of Service of Rivers State, Dr George Nwaeke, said despite the political turmoils in the state last year, the governor sailed through into another year; as such, requires thanksgiving to God.

He explained that the thanksgiving was to appreciate his faithfulness.

The head of service thanked the governor for his commitment towards uplifting the welfare of workers in the state.
