Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, Senator Basheer Lado, has emphasised the need for collaborative engagement between Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) and the National Assembly, particularly the Senate committees.

He spoke yesterday, at the National Assembly during an interaction with newsmen, where he reiterated that cooperation with the Senate was not merely a constitutional requirement but a fundamental component of achieving President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to him, by prioritising responses to the Senate’s invitations, agencies can play a pivotal role in showcasing their dedication to public service and reinforcing citizens’ confidence in their government.

Despite challenges posed by competing official commitments, Lado noted that engaging with Senate’s committees was an opportunity for MDAs to demonstrate their commitment to accountability and good governance.

“Honoring the Senate’s invitations is vital for fostering a proactive, respectful, and transparent relationship between the Executive and Legislative arms of government. This partnership is instrumental in delivering on our promises to the nation.

“By ensuring that all government bodies engage meaningfully with the Senate, Nigeria can strengthen its democratic institutions and ensure that the interests of the people are at the forefront of governmental operations,” he said.
