Jameson Irish Whiskey’s ’12 Days of Christmas’ campaign has returned this year with an even bigger edition, which kicked off with the unveiling of a spectacular Christmas Tree meticulously crafted from almost 3,000 recycled Jameson bottles.

This year’s event, took place on December 21, at Ikeja City Mall, setting an exemplary tone for a sustainable and festive holiday season.

Central to this celebration was the towering Jameson Christmas Tree, an exquisite testament to the brand’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and environmental conscientiousness.

Crafted entirely from recycled bottles, this monumental tree embodied the essence of eco-friendly celebrations, symbolizing Jameson’s resolve to minimize its environmental impact.

Representatives from Pernod Ricard expressed their elation regarding the success of the opening day and the significant milestone achieved in advocating sustainability through celebratory experiences.

Welcoming attendees, Sola Oke, the Managing Director of Pernod Ricard Nigeria and Western Africa, said “Conviviality is at the heart of who we are as an organization and this season is about bringing people together and celebrating the magic of human connection. Intricately linked with our convivial spirit is our sustainability and responsibility pillar, and that is also why we are here today. We’re here to demonstrate our commitment to sustainability as an organization which is why 3,000 bottles were collected to make this tree. In addition, we want you to enjoy your Jameson responsibly, so we’re giving out complimentary Bolt Vouchers for every bottle of Jameson you buy here over the next 12 days.”

The inaugural day marked the commencement of a 12-day celebration filled with exciting activities and joyous experiences for all participants. From a captivating Christmas carol on the 24th to an owambe party and new year’s concert, subsequent days will feature a variety of events, including on-site games, delightful food experiences, and signature Jameson cocktails. Each element was thoughtfully curated to honor the season and cultivate a sense of community, providing attendees with a memorable and festive celebration.

To promote responsible drinking, Jameson has partnered with Bolt, giving attendees who purchase bottles of Jameson discount vouchers to use on the ride hailing platform. Pernod Ricard’s responsible drinking initiative is a part of its Sustainability and Responsibility roadmap, in harmony with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 – ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all.

Speaking on Pernod Ricard’s responsible drinking campaigns during the festive season, Dolapo Onasanya, Human Resources Director at Pernod Ricard Nigeria, highlighted the company’s commitment to responsible celebrations and road safety in collaboration with Federal Road Safety Corps Nigeria (FRSC). The campaign tagged “Safe Roads” features engagements with commercial drivers who are educated on the dangers of drinking and driving as well as other risks associated with irresponsible alcohol consumption and its effects to the society at large.

Jameson’s ’12 Days of Christmas’ goes beyond mere celebration; it embodies a sustainable and joyous journey, showcasing the brand’s dedication to creating experiences that surpass the ordinary. The Christmas Tree will be open to the public from the 21st of December to after the new year’s concert on the 1st of January 2024.
