Intending Muslims seeking to embark on the 2025 pilgrimage from Kano are advised to complete the deposit of N8,457,685.59 before the February 3rd deadline.

The state government also directed intending pilgrims who have already completed the pegged final fare to submit their international passports for processing and issuance of the Hajj visa.

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) recently released the final fare for this year’s Hajj according to traditional zonal segmentation. Accordingly, pilgrims from the South zone are expected to pay N8,784,085.59, their counterparts from the Northern Zone will pay N8,457,685.59, while those from Adamawa and Borno will pay N8,327,125.59.

The Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Laminu Danbaffa, who disclosed the new date for Hajj payment, reminded that there would be no room for extension after the expiration of the February 3rd deadline.

Danbaffa spoke on Sunday in Rano town, Rano local government area of the state while unveiling the pilgrims’ weekly orientation and enlightenment programme on the spiritual exercise.

The DG of the Pilgrims’ Board hinted that Kano has so far recorded the highest number of registered intending pilgrims for the next Hajj, adding that the state government is ready to provide the necessary support to its contingents in the holy land.

Briefing on the welfare arrangements in place for intending pilgrims, Danbaffa, who recently returned from a pre-Hajj visit to Saudi Arabia, assured that there would be befitting accommodation, feeding arrangements, and transport both in Makkah, Madina, and other sacred places of worship.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Kano Pilgrims Board, Yusuf Lawan, tasked intending pilgrims to take advantage of the enlightenment programme to familiarize themselves with the details of Hajj.

Lawan, however, cautioned participants about the critical need to abide by the rules and regulations of Saudi Arabian authorities during their stay while embarking on the journey with the intention to worship.

The orientation programme, which entails induction courses and enlightenment of intending pilgrims by dedicated Islamic scholars, will be held simultaneously across all the zones, including Bichi Center, Gwarzo Center, and the School of Arabic Studies, which covers the metropolitan councils.

Other zones include Rimin Gado Center, Wudil zone, Gezawa zone, Kura center, and Rano Center, which also covers four local government areas.
