The Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) has reiterated its committment to engage stakeholders in promoting professionalism and safety in the built environment.

Mr Gbolahan Oki, the General Manager LABSCA, expressed the commitment while announcing plans to engage stakeholders in discussing best practices in the built environment in the state.

The LABSCA boss made this known in a statement by Mr Olaoye Olusegun Public Affairs Unit on Monday in Lagos.

Oki said the agency would organize a stakeholder engagement with the theme: “Professionalism Across Board In The Built Environment,” to discuss best practices in the built environment.

He said the initiative aimed to bring together professionals, regulatory bodies, property developers, local government chairmen, community leaders, and other stakeholders.

Oki emphasized the importance of educating and enlightening stakeholders on obeying building codes, regulations, and avoiding unapproved construction practices.

He said that stakeholders would be equipped with the knowledge and resources needed to maintain high standards in construction and development.

According to him, the stakeholders engagement scheduled for August 15 seeks to provide a platform for discussions, networking, and shaping the future of the built environment in Lagos State.

“The invited stakeholders such as artisans, developers, local government chairmen, community leaders, and professionals are closer to the people.

“Therefore, it is important to continually educate and enlighten them on the best ways and manners to utilize the environment, obey building codes, regulations and shun the practice of jumping approval processes in the building construction industry,” he said.
