A couple recently had their wedding day saved from embarrassment after law enforcement officials prevented them from playing music for their guests at the venue they booked for their event.

This was due to the intervention of event host, Sadiq Ola Adebimpe a.k.a Sceed Barms, who deployed his skills to save the day.

According to Sceed Barms, when he got to the venue, he saw officials of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) waiting outside.

He said they told everyone that the event would not be held because they got complaints about noise pollution.

He said “We started begging. The event planner who had done an amazing job putting the event together also started begging. Everyone was frustrated. Guests had lost touch and were stranded outside. After serious begging, they allowed people to enter the event’s place but on the condition that no single sound must be heard from the place. This meant no generator, no music, no mics, no speakers, nothing. The DJ was practically useless.”

He said at that point, the manager of the event was nowhere to be found, adding that people were already suggesting that they get a new venue.

The idea was not welcomed by MC Barms who thought of the stress of moving drinks and food to another venue, including guests, some of whom were already going home.

And so MC Barms came up with an idea from his experience of hosting over 500 events, including corporate dinners, summits, conferences, weddings, birthdays, concerts, and end-of-the-year parties.

Making his voice very audible, he told the guests, “Regardless of what is happening, the show has to go on.”

He then urged the guests to cooperate with him and sing songs for the couple as they made their way into the venue.

While the couple made their way in, they were encouraged by the guests who made ringing sounds by hitting spoons on bottles and accompanied it with cheers of joy as they waved white handkerchiefs in the air.

On MC Barms directive, the guests then gathered around the couple and started singing popular Nigerian love songs.
Their action made the couple get up and hit the dance floor even though there was no digital music in the air, only MC Barms’ directives.

A video of the event got over one million views and over 75,000 likes on Instagram, over one million views on X and 238,000 views on TikTok as of the time of this report.
