NGO launches initiative for better parenting
Step Up Nigeria, yesterday, floated Parents Anti-corruption Champions Initiative (PACCI) to task parents on exposing their children to values that encourage integrity.
The Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) plans achieving the objective of eliminating corruption and improving service delivery through its Catch Them Young Initiative (CYI) by educating children on negative effects of graft and importance of integrity.
Head of Department, Curricular, Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), Mrs. Abimbola Vaughan, represented by Senior Assistant Education Officer, Mrs. Elizabeth Elabor, reiterated that the state had opposed corrupt practices in the system, providing amenities and other educational equipment for smooth operations.
On the initiative, Founder, Step-Up Nigeria, Mrs. Onyinye Ough, advised: “Parents should avoid bribing schools for admissions or good grades. They should be talking to children about the negative impact of cheating and the need to act with integrity.”
