Abia: Otti reaffirms commitment to private, public sector partnership

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to creating the enabling environment for businesses to thrive. The governor also promised to continue supporting private/public sector partnerships that would create jobs for Abia citizens.

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to creating the enabling environment for businesses to thrive. The governor also promised to continue supporting private/public sector partnerships that would create jobs for Abia citizens.

Speaking while commissioning the new Jovita Mall in Aba, last weekend, Otti urged the private sector operators to invest in the state, saying that the government had put in place measures that would aid businesses to grow.

The governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, said: “This is the time for all to invest in Abia State. It is no longer a time when you will express doubt about a government in power.

“So, bring back those businesses from Abuja, from Lagos and from anywhere, Abia is open for business.”Otti said that his government has shown that it is very intentional and determined to change the narratives of governance in Abia State.

“If you look around, you can see infrastructure development across all parts of the state; you can feel the government’s investment in security, determination to secure the lives and property of those who live or do business in Abia,” Otti stated.

He said that the government has shown by its actions that it is determined to change the narratives of governance in Abia State, while assuring investors that he would create roads and do other infrastructure that would help make business people comfortable.

The governor, who commended the Jovita Group for taken a step that government expects from all other investors within and outside Abia State, thanked the group for understanding and keying into the vision of creating a new Abia.

Earlier, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade and Investment, Nwaka Inem, said that Otti’s administration in the last 19 months has taken bold steps to revitalize Aba as the epicentre of trade, commerce and industry.

Also speaking at the event, a foremost traditional ruler, Eze Isaac Ikonne, lauded the infrastructural development by Governor Otti in Aba and described it as unprecedented. He prayed for God to bless Governor Otti and enjoined all to support him.

Speaking on behalf of JOVITA Group, Mrs. Jovita Oguta, said that the mall would contribute to the economic development of Abia State through job creation.
She thanked Governor Otti for creating a conducive environment for businesses to thrive in Abia State and encouraged investors to invest in the state.
