The parents of two-month-old Oluwastise Oyesoji have made an urgent appeal to well-meaning Nigerians to assist in raising funds for their baby’s medical treatment.

Oluwastise has been diagnosed with a congenital heart disease and requires financial support to undergo life-saving surgery.

According to Oluwastise’s mother, Oluwabunmi, the symptoms began with frequent vomiting and a loss of appetite, prompting her to seek medical advice.

Despite undergoing a Full Blood Count and abdominal scan at a local hospital, the results indicated that nothing was wrong with the baby .

She explained: “On September 21, my baby cried uncontrollably, and I rushed him to the hospital. We were referred to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), where he was diagnosed with Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA) alongside Ventricular Septal Defect and Patent Ductus Arteriosus.”

The diagnosis was confirmed by Consultant Paediatrician and Cardiologist at LASUTH, Dr A.B. Oladimeji, on October 2, 2024, with further tests conducted by Dr B.S. Adeyefa and Dr O.T. Bamigboye-Taiwo at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital (OAUTH) on October 9, 2024.

Oluwabunmi added: “The doctors have informed us that the surgery can be performed at OAUTH, abroad, or First Cardiology Hospital in Ikoyi.

“We are appealing for public support to raise the N9 million needed for the surgery at OAUTH.”

Donations for Oluwastise’s surgery can be made to Oyesoji Oluwabunmi Elizabeth, UBA Account Number: 2072871203
