Man, 25, arrested for killing two, injuring three in Ogun

The police in Ogun State have arrested a 25-year- old man, Abubakar Musa, for allegedly killing two persons and injuring three others in Olambe.

The suspect attacked the victims with a knife while they were trying to console him over failed business deals.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed that the incident occurred on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

Babaseyi said the suspect, in his grief, stabbed five persons. While two, Gbadamasi Ibrahim (25) and Chinedu (40), died on their way to the hospital, Mohammed Abubakar (35), AshiruAdamu (25) and Paul Lawrence (25) are in critical condition but responding to medical treatment.

He stated that the suspect ran away immediately after committing the crime but was later arrested by the police.

“The suspect ran away after the attack but was later caught by detectives. He is now in police custody. The case and the suspect have been sent to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for investigation and prosecution,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police (CP), Bode Ojajuni, condemned the attack and promised that justice would be served.

He urged residents to stay alert and report any suspicious or violent behaviour to the police.

Ojajuni also urged the public to report suspicious activities or security problems through the Ogun State Police Command emergency lines.
