APC candidate debunks presidency’s claim on Ilorin-Ibadan road
A CHIEFTAIN of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Prince Oyewole Oyewunmi has debunked recent claim by the Presidency that it had completed the Ilorin-Ogbomoso Express Way.
Oyewunmi who is also the party’s candidate for Ogbomoso Federal Constituency in this month’s elections, lamented what he described as “deliberate churning out of lies on the road project simply to deceive the people and to seek undeserved electoral support from voters in the Federal Constituency.”
The APC candidate who is also the son of the paramount ruler of Ogbomoso, Oba Oladunni Oyewunmi, in an interview with The Guardian said Nigerians from the Ibadan, Oyo, Ogbomoso, Osogbo, Ilorin and Minna axis of the country had continuously sought for explanations on why the road is yet to be completed 10 years after the award of the contract.
The lawyer-politician lamented the high rate of accident caused by the uncompleted portion of the road saying if the government had lived up to expectation, many lives would have been saved.
