THE All Progressives Congress (APC) in Borno State; has called on the police and other security agencies in the state to arrest and prosecutes executive members of 23 political parties for agitating an Interim Government in the state; despite recent clarifications by President Goodluck Jonathan that such calls are treasonable offence under the Nigerian laws.

State Chairman of APC, Alhaji Ali Bukar Dalori in a statement issued Thursday to newsmen in Maiduguri, disclosed that the 23 parties were “acting on the script” of immediate past governor of Borno State, Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff; who is desperate to takeover power at all cost even if it means, plunging the state into chaos to extinct.

The statement reads in part: “We strongly believe that the call by the 23 parties for elections in Borno to be shifted till September 26, 2015 and for an Interim Government to be put in place by May 29, 2015, is in furtherance of a blind desire to implement an agenda of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) that is aligned to an Ex-Governor of Borno State. He is hell bent on ensuring elections do not hold in Borno State by hook or crook; due to his fear of massive defeat for his anointed candidates given the evident popularity of the APC in this state.”
