THE Chief Magistrate presiding over the Coroner’s Court conducting investigations into the collapse of a building belonging to the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) has assured that the inquest would be concluded in March 2015.‎

Magistrate Oyetade Komolafe said this Tuesday when the matter came up for continuation of inquest at Coroner court within Lagos High Court, Ikeja.

The coroner informed the parties that proceedings could not go on because the court had received a letter from SCOAN’s counsel, Mr. Olalekan Ojo, asking for an adjournment.

He said, Ojo in the letter claimed that he was appearing in another case at the Federal High Court and had appealed to the inquest to vacate the dates fixed for Tuesday and Wednesday.

“This court cannot continue indefinitely. I just want to say that I am not going to sit for more than two weeks. Anybody that will not come during that period, we will skip his or her testimony and move ahead.”

He subsequently adjourned till February 26,2015 for cross-examination of SCOAN’s Chief Security Officer, Mr. Sunday Okojie.
