Edo sacks two commissioners, appoints more aides
EDO State Governor Adams Oshiomhole has dropped two of his commissioners.
A statement by his Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs, Prince Kassim Afegbua, on Sunday said those dropped were Hon. Orobosa Omo-Ojo, former Commissioner for Transport and Hon. Donald Osikhena-Boih, who headed the Ministry of Lands and Survey.
He said the governor has however forwarded four new commissioners-designate to the State House of Assembly for screening. They include Hon. Joseph Ayegbeni Ugheoke, Mr. Kenneth Edebiri; Mr. Saturday Idehen Uwulekhue and Mr Prestly Ediagboya.
Also, Oshiomhole has appointed two Deputy Chiefs of Staff. They are Hon. Frank Okiye, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor (Administration) and Mr. Kenneth Ehesikhien, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor (Political Matters). The appointments take immediate effect.
Though no reason was given for the sack, The Guardian, however, gathered that it may not be unconnected with the recent primaries of the party where the two commissioners lost. It was further gathered ever since their defeats, they had been unenthusiastic to the party’s electioneering.
