NIGERIA’S former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on Monday announced his decision to dump the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), adding that he wishes to remain an elder statesman.
Speaking to journalists in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, he further maintained that he isn’t prepared to join another political party, as he wishes to remain an elder statesman.
Obasanjo who has been a strong critic of President Goodluck Jonathan over his handling of the nation’s affairs, tore his party membership card afterwards.
