AHEAD of the April 11 governorship election, leader of the Southern Kaduna Winning All (SOKWINA) and former State General Secretary of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Mr. Katung Peters, has said that Southern Kaduna people are solidly behind the incumbent Governor, Alhaji Muhktar Ramalan Yero, in his bid to retain his office in the April 2015 general election.

A statement signed by Peters and made available to The Guardian read: “The people of Southern Kaduna have no doubts on the leadership quality of Governor Yero and his capability to win the governorship election under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).”

“Some members of this forum had embarked on a tour of almost the eight local councils of southern Kaduna for fact findings on whether or not the southern Kaduna people remain committed to PDP and its agenda. It is confirmed beyond all doubts that the people will never abandon PDP for any other party or candidate.”

“We met with opinion, youth and women leaders to seek their opinions. The general consensus is that from the presidential to the senate, House of Representatives, gubernatorial and state House of Assembly elections, it will be PDP all the way.  The people of southern Kaduna believe that Governor Yero has so much in stock for the people of the state and southern Kaduna in particular.”

According to him: “The recent inauguration of the committee of the University of Science and Technology to be cited in southern Kaduna is another booster and hope to our people who are committed to late Patrick Yakowa’s legacies. Our people have regard for him because of his humility, respect for tradition and customs of the people, respect for elders and individuals, no matter their status.”

“Your service to God, respect to institutions, individuals had earned you the heart of our people as their leader, so be rest assured of 100 per cent block votes from southern Kaduna people in the general elections on March 28 and April 11, this year.”

“This could be attested to from the successful tour by the wife of the governor, Hajiya Fatima Ramalan Yero and wife of the deputy governor, Mrs Naomi Nuhu Bajoga who were warmly welcomed with their team in every local government they visited in southern Kaduna”, Peters added.
