THE governorship candidate of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State, Darius D. Ishaku, has said if given the mandate to pilot the affairs of the state in the forthcoming political dispensation, the plights of Tarabans, especially in the areas of road networks, would soon be a thing of the past.

Ishaku stated this in Karim-Lamido Local Council of the state while soliciting votes from the people whom he observed to have suffered untold hardship due to the absence of motorable roads in the council.

Citing his numerous achievements during his tenure as Minister of State for Power, as well as Minister of State for Niger Delta, he said his wealth of experience would be used to herald the much-needed growth to the area and the state at large.

The governorship candidate reiterated his determination to making road infrastructure his priority in the area, saying: “I will particularly tar the Jalingo-Lau and Lau-Karimlamido roads and if possible push for the construction of a bridge across the Benue River.”

Speaking, the Acting Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sanni Danladi, who also hailed from the council, said while Ishaku is an architect, his running mate, Haruna Manu, is an engineer.

Admonishing the people on the need to rally round the party’s governorship flagbearer, the two technocrats as envisaged by him, “will design and construct beautiful roads for us.”
