Kano to recruit 1,903 teachers
THE Kano State Government said on Thursday that it would recruit additional 1,903 teachers on temporary basis to complement the services of serving teachers in the state.
The Commissioner for Information, Hajiya Ladidi Garko, announced this while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting in Kano.
Garko said the measure was to improve the quality of education in the state.
She said the council had also approved over N17 million for the supply and installation of professional Public Address Systems and their associated devices for the new state Coronation Hall.
“The council has also approved N21 million for the training of 5th batch of trainees of Kiru Reformatory Institute,” she said.
Garko also said that the council had approved N7million for the purchase of and free distribution of sickle cell drugs to patients of the disease in the state.
She said government would continue to provide infrastructure in order to make life easier for the people. (NAN)
