THE Minister of State for Power, Alhaji Mohammed Wakil Friday condoled the emir of Biu, Alhaji Umar Mustapha Aliyu and his people of Biu in Borno state over Thursday’s twin blasts that killed 19 people at farm workers Gandu Park.

Wakil in a statement issued in Maiduguri by his Special Adviser, Olawale Rasheed said: “I received with sadness the twin bomb blasts that again rocked Biu on Thursday. This is one bombing too many and a continuation of condemnable man’s inhumanity to man by the almost defeated Boko Haram sect.”

Rasheed however noted: “The attacks on Biu, which had occurred about four times recently is a manifestation of desperation by terrorists who are on the run; following their defeat in Baga, Monguno and other 11 communities.

“It is a new shift to soft targets as the end come for the insurgents who had foisted evil bloodsucking reign on our people for five or six years.”

On how to reclaim all captured towns, the statement said: “As I commend the security forces for ongoing successes, I appeal for strengthening of our soft weapons in the area of intelligence gathering and monitoring of sleeping cells of these terrorists .

“It is time to strengthen the working relationship between the civilian militia and the security services to prevent and forestall future attacks.
