THE Niger State Police Command, has assured that adequate measure has been taken towards ensuring a peaceful conduct of the forthcoming election in the state.

The state police commissioner of police, Mr. Olusola Amore who made this known in Minna on Thursday when members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Niger state council led by its chairman, Mallam Iliya Garba paid him a courtesy call at the police headquarters in Minna said, “we carried out physical training as well as educated our members on electoral act.

He said the command is also working in collaboration with other security agencies towards ensuring the conduct of peaceful election in the state.

According to him, the Command has taken the delivery of eight new vehicles which will be dedicated in township patrol during the election period, stressing that “we have reached all spots where hoodlums usually gathered, and 80 suspects are now cooling their foot behind the bars.

The commissioner therefore advised Journalist in the state to always cross check their facts before going to the press in order to be caution in the discharge of the duties.

Amore further disclosed that he has directed the pasting of his two Mobile GSM numbers in strategic areas in order to give all residents access to him as well as directed all Divisional Police Officers (DPO) in the state to avail their mobile GSM numbers to the public in their areas of jurisdiction.
