IN continuation of its onslaught against crime in Abia State, the new state Police Commissioner, Mr. Joshak Habila yesterday paraded some suspected criminals comprising armed robbers, kidnapers, and child traffickers before journalists at the state Police Officers Mess in Umuahia.

   He said that the kidnap suspects whose names he gave as Light Nwalozie and Anthony Ukaegbu, were arrested sequel to the report from sister of an abducted man, Calistus Agunmou, who led them when the kidnappers called for the ransom.

   Police also reported the arrest of one Ezenwoko Gideon said to be a suspected notorious armed robber terrorizing Obingwa and environs.

   Other arrests he said included Chilaka Azubuine and Victor Young who were alleged to specialize in Automated Teller Machine (ATM) vandalism along with their accomplices namely Enyeribe Chidi, Obinna Francis, Iwejuo Chilaka and Izuochi Iwejuo.

   According to the state Police boss, “The Command is continuing intensive patrols and raids on suspected criminal hideouts to ensure that the coming elections are held peacefully under conducive environment. But to achieve desired results, I call on the members of the public to volunteer useful and timely information to the Police and be rest assured that the information volunteered would be treated confidentially.
