Yoruba leaders meet in Ibadan

PROMINENT Yoruba leaders will meet at Premier Hotel, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, today as the second post-National Conference summit holds in the ancient city.

  They include Chief Olu Falae, Chief Reuben Fasonranti, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, Chief Olanihun Ajayi, Chief Dapo Shonibare, and Chief Korede Duyile, Senator Femi Okunrounmu, Dr. Kunle Olajide, Dr. Fredrick Fasehun, Otunba Gani Adams, Yinka Odumakin, Prof. Dupe Olatubosun and Yoruba delegates to the confab which held last year.

  At the first edition of the summit in Akure last Thursday, President Goodluck Jonathan was endorsed for a second term for the primary reason of implementing the report of the confab. 

 Participants at the summit were unanimous in insisting that  the only genuine change the nation craves for now is that of the constitution and not of personality at the helm of the country’s affairs.

They, therefore, resolved to work assiduously to ensure that the Confab recommendations get translated to concrete realities and thus threw their weight behind Jonathan’s re-election. 

The convener of the summit and Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun MImiko, said the basis for the summit was basically to call for the implementation of the confab being the only solution to the challenges confronting the nation.
