Oyo sensitises commercial tricycle, motorcycle operators on registration

The Oyo State Government on Tuesday in Ibadan held a one-day sensitisation meeting with commercial tricycle and motorcycle operators ahead of its compulsory order on registration.
The State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Dotun Oyelade, in his opening remarks at the event harped on the need for a proper registration of motorcycles and tricycle operators.
Oyelade said the exercise would help in the documentation of riders in the state.
He therefore called for cooperation between motorcycle/tricycle riders and the state government.
“Such a cooperation will enhance a mutually-beneficial relationship and improve the security of the state and its economy,” the Commissioner said.
The Consultant in charge of the registration, Mrs Bukola Omosanya, said the documentation would also promote public safety and restore integrity to registered motorcycle riders in the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the meeting was attended by leaders of Motorcycle Transport Union of Nigeria (MTUN) and Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Riders And Owners Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN).
