Your disrespect for Aregbesola caused your defeat, APC caucus fires Oyetola
Omoluabi Caucus, a group loyal to a former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, in the All Progressives Congress has said that Gboyega Oyetola lost the 2022 governorship election to Governor Ademola Adeleke, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party because he attempted to denigrate Aregbesola.
According to the caucus, the electoral defeat Oyetola suffered was God’s reward for him, alleging further that the current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy plotted evil against his predecessor despite struggling to ensure his first term emergence as governor in Osun State.
It noted with shock what the caucus described as “the seeming determination of a handful political neophytes to bring the party down at all cost for their selfish interests,” adding that Oyetola instigated his people against Aregbesola and his loyalists in the state.
Revealing how the two former governors parted ways, a statement signed by a former Chairman of Osun APC and leader of the caucus, Adelowo Adebiyi, read: “It is on record that Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola was subjected to undeserved attacks, harassment and humiliation by the political flotsam and jetsam under the watch of former Governor AdegboyegaOyetola. Eventually, the hypocrites, whose desire was selfish pursuits, drew Aregbesola into an unnecessary crisis in the APC.”
