The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State on Saturday accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of allegedly mounting pressure on the military to withdraw from collation centers, intending to manipulate the election outcome.

In a statement, the State Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, said that the APC is doing this to pave the way for thugs who are to work with some unscrupulous policemen to disrupt the collation of results.

According to him, “We have learnt that the APC is mobilizing thugs to disrupt the collation process. They are piling pressure on the military to withdraw from the collation centres to achieve their devious plans.

“As we expected, the results are trickling in and we have the upper hand. But in panic mode, the APC is activating its sleeper cells to disrupt the collation centres after seeing signs of their imminent defeat.”

He noted that the APC’s alternate plan is to call for the election process to be terminated so as to save face.

”The APC is also plotting to terminate the voting process as they are scared of defeat. We are calling on all lovers of democracy to watch them closely.”
